VRSN touted VERY positively on CNBC today by an analyst from a Burbank
based company. Ron Insana's first comment was "Verisign, what does this company do, not exactly a household name." I wish vrsn would do more advertising - or _any_ advertising. A nice 'general awareness/name recognition" ad about internet security and ecommerce during a 49er game or something would go a long way toward increasing shareholder value. Anyway, the analyst basically said what we already know - that vrsn is unmatched in it's area and that it should grow in response to the growth of the Internet. When Insana asked about 'all the other companies' that are in their space the analyst correctly responded that over time VRSN has shown that it continues to lead it's field both marketing wise and technically, and that he doesn't see anyone who can really touch them at this point. This occured at about 12:30 Pacific time. Too bad this happened during a day when NASDAQ was falling off a cliff. Greenspanked
