AMD is also not going to be making motherboards. They also don't want to make chipsets and Via and Ali have stated they are developing Athlon EV6 chipsets. Looks like it will have to be a three way deal.

The V2 numbers are killing me! Back when I worked for Radio Shack we brought out a converter to play cassettes in an 8-track deck. This was in the early 80's (an 8-Track player hadn't been sold since the end of the 70's.) As the 80's decade rolled on these converters kept selling, and selling, and selling. When I graduated in '90 and left the company they were still moving in big numbers. The damn things cost $40! You could buy a cassette deck for the same price! You gotta love those consumers. ;-)
