Bill, I believe the media was desperate for something sensational to happen to attempt to reverse the adverse direction their reputation was taking. In the morning, we will have had 7 full days of around the clock coverage of three deaths. Death is tragic but it happens and nobody really deserves that amount of coverage regardless of what they did or did not do.

I don't know if you remember but, Rather's only claim to fame was to be stupid enough to stand on the sea wall in Galveston as hurricane Carla beat the tar out of him. Some credentials huh? TD

I could understand this in Boston, but nationally, I just don't get it. JLA

>>Look at the garbage the media is putting out on this JFK story.

Now everyone who didn't witness it can understand how the Media and the Kennedys used his father's assassination to create and sustain the myth that JFK was god-like, universally popular and an easy bet for re-election, when , in fact, JFK was in political straits when he died.

That was the reason he was in Texas. JFK looked to lose the entire South and was actually running behind prospective Rep nominee Goldwater in national polls. Tell me, who profited from JFK's death?

The Media moved in lock step then as it has now, turning untimely death into apotheosis and a sickening, unthinking Kennedyfest. John Jr., wife and in-law deserved far far better than to be used in so sickening a way. The dead have been reduced to little more than the most recent sacrifices placed on the pyre of PR artifice known as Camelot.
