I think Blodget's "this should make whatever momentum investors are left heading for the exits fast", or whatever he said exactly, as the catalyst.

There's no fundamental problem here.

Do you find it stranger that the co will never make a profit and folks are starting to have that dawn on their thick skulls?

Nobody really believes this co is worth 8 billion dollars.
