The people who bought the stocks of ISP companies are paying for the "free" PCs. I understand E-Machines is supposed to have a $ 299 or $ 199 PC for this Xmas.

Gene, Very confusing. Unit sales, which they toutily call "sales," were up 35%. Prices were down 20%. But the lower price does not included $400 rebates on $399 computers, the only ones selling. <g> Admittedly, I am at a loss to figure out what revenues really are when the pc is free but folks sign up for the ISP. Who gets allocated what? But my guess is, actual sales, revenues, are in the toilet.

E-Machines may be the first co. to become #1 in retail sales and have no revenues. <vbg>
