There has been some discussion among Ampex stockholders concerning the ethics of the release of the last JFK interview. This is the response to that discussion made by Dave Gardy, Chairman and Co-CEO of TVontheWEB:

About the JFK jr. interview..I would
like to set the record straight. We at TV onthe WEB released the interview to the press for free because I personally thought the interview was a poignant and compelling segment (especially as the last known interview) showing JFK jr. as himself, without any pretense as he discussed his magazine, his foot injury and other subjects. It would have been improper to profit from the tragedy, so we didn't. We offered it with the "courtesy of Tvontheweb.com" credit so people could go to our site to view it in its entirety (also for free). The distribution proved to be extensive worldwide because of strong demand. The real story here isn't the debate over whether we capitalized on bad news. The real story is that when broadcast television wanted relevant video content to serve their audiences, they went to internet narrowcast television to get it. As more and more video is produced for the internet, this phenomena will become ubiquitous as broadcast TV increasingly relies on Internet TV. Their audiences will soon follow. I respectfully reject "born poor's" assertions and question the motivations for his inflammatory post. Dave Gardy Chairman and Co-CEO, TV onthe WEB
