RESEARCH ALERT - Electrogas price target raised

NEW YORK, July 23 (Reuters) - Credit Suisse First Boston analyst Kathryn Buergert said Friday she raised her price target for
Electroglas Inc. (Nasdaq:EGLS - news) to $25 from $20.

-- Buergert raised her rating after the company reported a second quarter net profit of $1.0 million over a loss of $5.1 million in the
year-ago period.

-- Electroglas shipments and margins topped CSFB forecasts.

-- Buergert is raising 1999 estimate to loss of $0.09 from loss of $0.33, and 2000 estimate to profit of $0.92 from profit of $0.75.

-- Shares of Electroglas were trading at $19.875, unchanged from Thursday's closing price.

None of that foolish talk about EGLS going to a 100. (common on other threads)

No rash predictions for next quarter.

No one demanding a two for one stock split.

No one calling the management brilliant.
