Iris, I think the only way to learn to trade the nets is via the "close encounter of the real but small kind". <gg> But it's still very dangeous and only if it fits your over-all positions and strategies. I think that we think alike and I can learn a lot from you. btw, my Intc shares are pretty much kept seperated with the options trading a/c; if I write CCs on Intc and I always close the option trades to avoid any tax-related confussion.

So the options tradings are always short-term cap. gains/losses.
