A "roving hyena" is someone who is spoiling for prey, JLA. In other words, looking for a fight. I wasn't thinking of you, if that is why you ask. <g>

JLA -- might be "roving hyenas" was a reference to me (Damn!). In any case, allow me a description of the "hyena" part.

"Hyenas" are "carnivorous scavengers."

"Scavengers" search through refuse for food and feed on dead or decaying matter.

I think Joannie may be right. So far, I haven't found much fresh meat on her arguments -- I've poked several with a stick but discern no sign of life.

Maybe I just need to be more patient.
