A guess only. There are reports that Ericsson has decided to use Q ASICs in its CDMA phones. This could permit earlier CDMA phone ramp up and earlier CDMA (or combination?) phone sales by Ericsson than earlier predictions perhaps. Also since neither MOT nor Nokia seem to be having much luck turning out CDMA chips in volume or even less luck with advanced CDMA chips with rapid data capability, this move, if true, could give Ericsson a leg up on MOT and Nokia in future CDMA phone sales.
