There was, I think, a more complex dynamic in the Ellen controversy, but I agree generally that there has been a greater degree of comfort with violence than romance or intimacy, and I am sometimes appalled at the things that some consider acceptable. I will say, though, that more people are attracted to sexual behavior than violence, and that might affect the calculation. When was the last time you were titillated? When was the last time you wanted to blow someone away? I find the suggestion of the movie as a publicity stunt shrewd...

I agree, violence is bad on our various forms of media entertainment and needs to be checked esp. for out kids viewing. AND it is no different for deviant behavior. Two women kissing or two men kissing with thoughts of sharing a bed is sodomy not intimacy, and an advertizer should pull his ads from both. We should(and many are not) not be comfortable with either.

<<edit>> And I will go farther and say that TV or movies is no place for a man and woman to be exploited by any sexual behavior that should be reserved for the sanctity of marriageand privacy.

But what does this have to do with George Bush?
