Okay Djane, it is a slow day and I am hoping to make up for my overly optimistic Loral picks (high/low/close for April 21 2000: 60/14/48) So here goes...

7/30: 32 - stock will continue to rise due to successful launch, despite of the general market malaise.

9/30: 27 - stock drifts lower as the world awaits the regional system start dates (still some two months away)

1/31: 43 - regional roll outs pick up stream, general good feelings that Y2K was a non event, yearly tech market upswing.

There, what do I win?

Ok, I love a good contest; I'll go for 32,42,62 (and no split before next year's s/h meeting. )

Mind if I play?

31 1/2, 55 3/8, 90.

I'll see your bullishness, and raise you.

BTW: Thanks for your many informative posts. Have lurked in the past and you are a news hawk. You also like to inject some levity. :)

To the thread, assuming a successful launch on Sunday to get to the 32 satellites needed to start Sept service, any predictions on G* closing share prices on Friday 7/30, 9/30/99 and 1/31/00? Based on past trends, I'll predict that G* share price declines on Monday (buy the rumor, sell the news...). Anyway, my predictions (31, 60, 75 and the 1st split of many). Yeah, use my bullishness and critical exuberance as a contrary indicator for sentiment purposes :-) As Rocket Scientist has done, I'll gather and post a summary of the responses provided before the Sunday morning (or later) launch. djane

I disagree with the prediction that GSTRF stock price will decline in the wake of a successful Sunday launch. I think this launch, unlike previous launches, will result in a rising stock price as institutional investors jump in. I think they have been laying back on this stock because it was too speculative until the system had enough birds in the air to actually guarantee commencement of service. This will be the launch that does it so I expect they will start to move in large amounts of money if it goes well.

Of course with my luck, the damned rocket will probably blow up on the launch pad!
