Morgy: DON'T KNOW ABOUT MANHATTEN...BUT HERE IN OREGON...........
where my son is in the tech. business - "THINGS" ARE QUITE
DIFFERENT!!!
(1) Long hours, yes. BUT good pay increases due to competition
for skilled people - particularly - Programmers.
(2) "Enslavement" ??? Son has ability to go elsewhere at
even higher pay - if HE DESIRES.
(3) THINGS ARE GOOD in the High-Tech industry(ies). Bill
Gates has made hundreds of millionaires up in WA and
with the companies MSFT has trade relations.
(4) DO AGREE - THIS IS NOT TRUE FOR ALL ECONOMIC SECTORS.....

Best,
Don

RE:"why hasn't there been wage inflation? if the labor market is so very
tight?
they call it productivity..I call it enslavement plus using the global
market to have many things made abroad...
if things are so good why do a lot of people have two jobs?
if things are so good why does it take usually two workers in one family
to maintain a fine life style?"...

You take the side of Labor I see. It's never enough.
There is wage inflation.
Why do people have two jobs?.. same reason both spouses have to work...
Ans...Because everyone else is doing it and prices have adjusted.
Pricing is pretty efficient.
