Working backwards, you left out my most important statement about example 3):

I don't believe it's possible that people won't disagree, unless the hitting is so light as to be a joke, or so hard as to be a crime.

So we are in agreement about example 3), I think.

As to number 1) and 2), is it possible that we disagree on the definition of "subjective"?

My little Websters that I keep by the computer says "1. of or resulting from the feelings of the subject, or person thinking, rather than the attributes of the object thought of; as a subjective opinion. 2. determined by and emphasizing the ideas, feelings, etc. of the artist, writer or speaker." (3 and 4 are clearly irrelevant.)

A is A, red is red, 4 is 4, but this gold coin in my hand may or may not be a genuine American Eagle. I can say it is made of metal, has been minted, is of the color gold, and is heavy. All objective facts. Is it a genuine American Eagle? Can you tell without an assay? I'd say, no, at least I couldn't, I would just be guessing. Want to bet double or nothing?<g>
