Bill, I personally would not use the words "press" and "media" interchangeably. Certainly, as far as I am concerned, TV is an entirely different bag from "the press."

I never watch TV news except when there is a catastrophe, like an earthquake or a war. TV is great at pictures -- period.

There was a time when network executives happily used the revenues they got from their money-making shows to fund the news broadcasts, their big money-losers. Those times are apparently gone forever. It is now hard to tell the "news" shows from the "entertainment" shows. I believe it's a big, big mistake to rely on them as your primary source of information.
