Da, tovarich. Those two words, and "nyet" are the only Russian words I know. Learned them from the Hogan's Heroes episode when Col. Hogan was teaching the guys Russian and convinced Schultz that he needed the lesson too in order to get ready for duty on the Russian Front.

From the "Notes" to MJ's Mommy and Daddy's 80th birthday celebration: (Written by the eldest daughter) ~ Grandma and Momma would always tell Daddy to buy two 100# bags of flour with the same pattern of material on them and then Momma would make Shirley and myself matching outfits. As we got older and needed more material, she was always able to do such clever tricks by the trim she added to make us our cute clothes. I can remember Grandma and Momma making "lye" soap in the back yard. You'd have to cook it over a big bonfire.

I spent last Saturday at my sister's house celebrating the summertime birthdays. 18 yr old niece Gail roped her mother and I, and her grandmother, into a Monopoly game. Gail is used to leisurely Monopoly games that dawdle on for about an hour, after which she and her sisters wander off in boredom. Sedate Monopoly. After about 40 minutes I had 9 hotels. Gail had never seen any hotels before. I had as much cash as the bank. It was brutal. Age and cunning beat youth and speed.
