Truedog, Mark,

Those two maladjusted discontents in Colorado would have found a way to do their dirty deed regardless of any gun law.
I don't condone assault rifles or other fully automatics but your laws will not stop them. TD

Laws have not proven to stop anyone. If you want to stop something how about this: MADD reports that there were almost SIXTEEN THOUSAND ALCOHOL RELATED FATALITIES in 1998.

Another interesting stat::One out of eight intoxicated drivers in fatal crashes have had a prior DWI conviction within the past three years.

Can any civilized people believe that this has happened?

TD,
I'm not sure I agree with you.

I don't say the following as fact, it is only my opinion.

It appears to me that there are plenty of countries on this planet that have very effective gun control laws, and as a result experience much lower murder rates.

Now, let me be up front and admit that I don't really know if that is true:-) I know that I have read many articles that state it as fact and have corresponding reams of data. I also realize that those ae publications that are happy to skew facts towards agreement with their philosophy, just as their are many conservative publications that do the same thing.
