Forbes see PIII 500s at $265 in August. Interesting is Gwennap's comment that the Athlon 500 is going to be the high volume amd product. I thought there was only limited amounts of them?? "Intel, however, doesn't have any choice: It's simply protecting its turf against AMD's Athlon chip, the fastest on the market. The 500 MHz version of Athlon sells for $324, the 550 MHz version for $479 and the 600 MHz version for $699. "The price cuts are going to put pressure on the 500 MHz Athlon, which is AMD's high volume product for the second half of 1999," says Gwennap " forbes.com

But we do sit around in our Big Room talking about our kids and grand kids, our hobbies, our long term intc investment gains, and our advisor gigs as Silicon Valley GreyBeards. We also watch TV in the Big Room on our $14,000 Sony flat panel display from Fry's electronics !! Purchased with a small slice of our investment and trading profits. We also each have one at our private TV room. We once tried to invite Scumbria to join us in the Big Room but he politely declined. Something about preparing for a Vegetarian 4X4 Club event in the Sierra Mountains.
