That's my guess, too. He may even dimly perceive that he's been lied to, but doesn't want to admit it even to himself. God knows that at this point he can't keep his story straight for even twenty-four hours at a time.

The matador thing was very weird, but his stuff about the alleged death threat letters is even weirder.

He's really off his rocker. Too much stevia not good!!
