*** ERICSSON = CDMA !! **
Introduction to CDMA Systems

CDMA Systems - the newest addition to Ericsson's wireless solutions portfolio - offers products and services focused on serving the fast-growing cdmaOne™ and cdma2000™ markets.

Ericsson's new CDMA business unit combines the global presence of a proven wireless communications solution provider with renowned expertise and experience in CDMA network systems.

And, because operators have a need to get to market quickly, Ericsson is ready to respond with powerful CDMA solutions that enhance business and contribute to profitability.

cdmaOne Products and Services

Ericsson's cdmaOne networks, developed by some of the industry's premier IS-95 experts, deliver the full advantages of CDMA technology for outstanding performance results:

• crystal clear voice quality • spectral efficiency for high network capacity • 14.4 kbps Internet access • the flexibility to accommodate mobile, fixed and data applications • a clear migration path to the next generation of services

Delivering macrocell capabilities in a microcell-sized package, Ericsson's CDMA radio base stations have already demonstrated significant value to customers by allowing fast, flexible deployment options and greatly reduced installation and maintenance costs. And since the radio base stations and base station controllers utilize commercial open interface protocols to link to robust switching platforms, operators have the freedom to select the network components that best meet specific business and market needs.

Ericsson offers a choice of CDMA solutions, from end-to-end system deployments to specialized network products. To support every aspect of wireless operator business, Ericsson has a range of services, including network optimization, project management and technical training.

The combination of Ericsson's advanced CDMA product portfolio and sound technological expertise offers operator customers new levels of freedom and mobility in wireless communications.

cdma2000: Evolution to 3G

The next generation of wireless communications will flow smoothly from voice to higher-speed data, video, and mobile Internet and multimedia services - enabling operators to target new markets and add new revenue streams. Now, Ericsson can help any operator anywhere migrate to 3G systems, offering end-to-end solutions based on cdma2000, WCDMA and EDGE technologies.

Already, cdmaOne networks support enhanced data services and have a smooth, cost-effective migration path to cdma2000.

The first phase of cdma2000 is on the horizon now. With it, wireless service providers can double the capacity of current cdmaOne networks, and speed up packet and circuit data services to 144 kbps in 1.25MHz of spectrum.

With the second phase of cdma2000, operators will be able to evolve wireless networks to meet the IMT-2000 standard, with wideband carriers supporting major increases in network capacity and spectral efficiency, along with data speeds as high as 2 Mbps.

How far ahead can we see? To the convergence of wireless telecommunications and data communications. To a new world of business opportunities for operators. To true - anytime, anywhere - information access for consumers.

With the addition of CDMA technology to Ericsson's wireless solutions portfolio, operators in every corner of the globe can select network solutions based on all major second and third generation wireless standards - and have everything they need to navigate the seas of business.
