All in all the policy seems fair, the only problem being that your natural tendency will be to work towards drawing our eyes to the advertising subsidized areas rather than the messages"

Since WE are the major suppliers of 'content' to SI you'd think we would be the ones getting paid in this whole mechanism.

E.

Suddenly the purpose for the nature of the beta site is becoming clearer. Consistently we ask that the stock talk section be improved yet you seem to focus more on the "enhanced content" which is already available in many other places. Now I guess I see why.

I posted a message earlier on this thread that specifically outlines our objectives for the first edition of the new SI. beta.siliconinvestor.com

This first edition is a beginning, however, not an ending. Yes, we will integrate new content, but we will also enhance Stock Talk - and do so primarily by integrating features and services suggested by you - the members. Unfortunately, we couldn't do everything at once, although I think we've been pretty responsive to suggestions and requests regarding the beta.

I won't talk about specific features that are on the plan because A) I don't want to tip our hand to who knows who might be lurking around here, and B) I won't ever make a promise until I know we are ready to deliver. I don't believe in hyping vaporware.

With that said, I promise you that we fundamentally understand that it's the community that makes SI great, and we won't forget it.

Thanks,

Bryan

Like anyone is going to turn advertising on!

I plan to turn them on -- I have a fast connection, and am happy to help GNET (I am a stockholder) with the couple of dozen ad views a day that I'll generate.
