ROTFL!! "STRONG INDUSTRY COVERAGE"?

Is that what you call it when gaming news feeds cut and paste portions of your press release, like they do for everyone?

If you say so...

Anyway, let's get back to reality and see what this latest press
release shows:
1. They still have no real news to report - as all of their recent press releases have shown.
2. Like TeenLink, this is just a repeat of a previous relationship/product with a different spin. The Won.net relationship was touted months ago, and now they announce that they got paid employees to use it and promote it? Hardly very much of an accomplishment considering the time involved.

Interestingly, when you check out the actual site, it really would be difficult to even find Talk N' Play. I actually don't even see those new banner ads there. All that really happened is that they spammed the user boards with the very same press release.

But let's see actual user reaction to the product from
won.net
Their really isn't much discussion

I got Talk N' Play and I must say its not worth the money. Ever since installing Talk N' Play I've had nothing but problems with all my WON enabled games, including the ones I had before getting Talk N' Play. In fact, I can't even play them anymore. And I know I'm not the only one with these problems. Thrustmaster tech support is far less than helpful. Its taken two weeks for them to tell me its not their problem. I would recomend forgetting you ever heard of this product.

I, too, have purchased Talk'n'Play and have had nothing but problems with my games since I installed it. I use to have such fun with all the Hoyle games, now I can not even play them. Both Talk'n'Play and Thrustmaster's service techs have been horrible. They tell you they will have to call you back and they never do. They have not helped with a single thing. I must say, I have never seen a worse place to go for help when you need it. If I could get my money back, I surely would. I will never purchase anything from Thrustmaster again.

too had problems with "tnp" till john sauer at thrustmaster helped me out. we worked for several weeks on trying to figure out why i kept losing my mic. john suggested that i download an upgrade for my sound card and bingo! that did the trick. i still however have problems with getting sound thru the headset. instead everything comes thru my speakers. any suggestions on how to fix this problem. other wise i am very happy with the program and i have been telling everyone i talk to about it. my biggest problem now is finding people who do have the program so i can play poker or bj with them.

Hi I have talk and play and I have trouble finding many people who have it so its not much fun for me.

I think that last one sums it up the most - even those who *want* to use the product can't. The only really positive comments are just the promotion from the hosts. And the TMSR rep keeps repeating that their are many people actively using the product despite these complaints - a similar complaint was issued by even a positive review of the product on their own site. Right now there is "no conferences active".
So TMSR is basically selling a very expensive instant messenger to these people. What obviously is happening is that a person buys a copy, and then goes to the site, finds not much going on, and probably tosses the product in the corner - possibly very angry at TMSR. At least they have a mike and some Won games to show for it though. Or they go to hearme.com or somewhere else and get what they expected for free.

But despite all this, probably the most telling is that the company is still saying the market acceptance of Talk N' Play is a "forward looking statement" 5 months after it's official release. Do you think
MPATH needs to do this when they just gained over 900,000 users in the last quarter?

PS I did note that they actually did fix the TeenLink goof on their iConference screen shot finally. Not only does this indicate that at least a few employees are scanning these boards, if not maybe even Hausmann, it also indicates to me that this company *is* aware of their competetion and other info and is fully aware that it is treading a fine line - probably why they dropped the "unique" BS about their product. To clear them up further, other products can do voice activation as well, and they also hook up to the ICQ community - the largest in the world. All they have is way less users, way less money, way less promotion, etc.
