I don't know, I thought that decency predated political correctness...An odd assortment, indeed. I was hoping you would get to them!

I am very happy that you have found something worth your time in the piece. My two favorite presidents are FDR and Reagan. FDR saved the country from political hysteria, the Father Coughlins, Huey Longs, the Bund, the Communists, the Trotskyists, and so forth, whether or not the policies themselves were always sound, and he did the right thing in guiding the country to intervention against Hitler. Reagan went a long way to healing the scars of the '60s, reenergizing the country after Watergate and the failed presidency of Carter, and, let us face it,was the most instrumental in bringing the Cold War to a conclusion. I would also argue that the restructuring of the '80s is essentially the cause of our present prosperity....
