Joey, <Very bad news for AMD. PIII 500 for $265 in a few weeks!! Wow. Intel is now playing hardball on its PIII line. AMD will not only lose mkt. share as PIII becomes the volume leader, but they can forget about profits anytime soon. It will be fun to watch Jerry have to pre-announce another disatreous quarter in about a month or so. I was hoping for a run-up to the mid 20s, but now it may never happen. > Is it possible that Athlon will ship in 650 speed grades this quarter and has effectively killed of the pricing for speed grades below 550 MHz? Do you suppose they are scared to death of the Athlon? Duh... Apparently, some of my vendors I talked to today can get Athlons now...it' the motherboards they can't get. What happens to Intel margins, BTW? Can they make it up on Xeons?
