I would say, "businesses have interests."

E.g., most businesses want tax cuts, across the board is ok, but special interest tax cuts will do, thank you. The steel industry wants protection from foreign steel being "dumped", so do the steel workers unions, but builders and auto manufacturers want cheap steel, and so do the auto workers unions. Wal-Mart wants Congress to lift the restrictions on the importation of foreign textiles, the textile mills want the restrictions increased, and so do the textile workers unions. And so forth and so on.
