If I'm a Qwest Director, I want the stock price of QWST as high as possible, not just because the value of my stock options increases with the increase in price, but also becausethe higher the price of QWST, the less the dilution during the USW purchase. Hence, if I'm a director, and I believe in the company, now is a darn good time to go out on the open market and buy some shares. That would send a very strong message to the rest of the community that the QWST board believes in the acquisition and believes in the future of QWST.

Of course, they're not going to do it; why should they. But a guy can dream, right?
