OT: Back to you Thomas

"...Anyone who "knows" the future is full of shit."

...........T.A. Simpson

You redeemed yourself as you enclosed the word "knows" in quotes.
The concept of knowledge is a seduction of language. Anyone who says they KNOW ANYTHING is befuddled by memes and metaphor. Knowledge doesn't exist. The only thing that exists is that which exists and it is not predicated upon the comprehension of its possibility. We have our experience of it and that's it. Confounding experience with the comprehension of how it is possible produces preachers (transcendental dreamers) whose claim it is that we will one day after death transcend all that we have to go on as of now - mere experience - and be granted more than an end in oblivion.......
This much I "know." Confound it all... All we have is theory. Science attempts a logically and philosophically sound approach to theory based upon experience and an openness to revision by further experience. No claims to "truth" or "knowledge" are made by professional scientists. There are no facts of experience, only interpretations. Facts are statements which are true by definition - constructs of logical computation expressed in mathematical symbols which fold in upon themselves. As our experience of our daily existence can neither be defined logically and mathematically nor be anything but a mystery, we have in our hands nothing to possess as a matter of fact of it. To live in a state of wonder and be at once aware of it is a beautiful thing. It checks our being too petty with politics and zens away the "egos."

Just doodling,
Marty
