Justa re:my decision to trim AMAT. I agree the stock and sector fundamentals look good. While I'm talking about piddly positions in all the big 4 in the aggregate they have become about 8% or more of my portfolio and that's not counting zombie UTEK which I'm getting some buyer's remorse for. AMAT had gone long term for me as I purchased it in 6/98 for 28 and small change. A long time ago I had previously skimmed off some profits in NVLS and KLAC. So basically facing the possibility of a change in market direction some time soon I took some profits in the sector from the most obvious candidate and 28 to 70 is a nice ride and I still hold a small positions in all the big 4. If Bob eventually calls a bear I'm not sure what I'll do at the time since I don't think the NAZ 100 is all that great a proxy for the sector and with the extreme volatility of the index I'm not that comfortable either shorting QQQ or using a NAZ 100 bear fund to hedge particularly since this sector can dance to its own music up or down
