Kryosy. A good boint on G*. At the conference call, it was stated that all or much (I don't recall which) of the Q current recievables for G* gateways had beev reclassified as long term. I seem to recall a number like $400MM. Now that IRID has failed, all eyes are on G*. If G* appears to get off to a shaky start in Sept thru Feb, Q stock prices will suffer, at lease in the short term. Information to analyze G* is closely held and secret. We know it is intuatively a much better business model than IRID--but is it good enough--and exactly what are Q's commitments?

In this, I believe there is a postive. I believe Bernie of Loral is in high standing in China. I believe he has given Dr. Jacobs, self made man, genius, conquorer of worlds of hagfish, the most totally glowing personal recommendation in all of history. I believe this counts big time in China and thus ERICY is forced to fall in line. I would not be at all supprised to see sons fo high Chinese officials staying with QCOM execs while they live in or attend school in the US.

KyrosL: Sorry, Was in L.A. yesterday. Yes, I agree it could be a big negative...to investors. Overall for the company, a drag on the lift. Can provide a few comparisons later.

Some compare irid to G*. I think this is due to the lack of anything else to compare it with. One thing to consider about irid failure, not technical (does work as planned), not marketing, but everyone is waiting for the best. IMO

Yes, Obsolesense is possible. This is the fun of investing! Seriously, cable TV advocates said/saying the same thing for 20 years. Govt. protection has kept cable alive. I don't believe it is all or nothing. IMO

All good ?'s. Keep it up!

One other negative that came to mind. 'Global exposure' could hurt the Q. These are also buying opportunities.
