Gator, MDU is Rogers worst nightmare. They compete for TV and now high speed internet.
A few years ago the local telco wired up a whole condo block for tv , and it was mandatory to go with them. Mr Rogers bought a suite under a numbered company for mega bucks , complained to the CRTC that he wanted rogers cable in order to get access to the building.
The scenario was, he wanted to charge more money for less channels.
The residents laughed him off the premises.
Rogers is a CRTC regulated company and will not be able to compete (even legally?) with MDU's free install policy, as that would affect monthly rates and that is big no-no.
