It looks like I will end up getting a new system, rather than a whole new computer. I like long model runs: I used the Apple II+ for almost 10 years, and the 1984 model Mac for over five years, increasing its memory to 1 mb (sounds silly, doesn't it?). I am still using the Mac SE after 11 years, and I still am using a portable Mac clone, called the Outback, purchased in 1991. Unfortunately, with all the new software around, the only thing this computer is good for is e-mail. My regular Mac is 3 years old, so it's got to last for several more years in order to maintain my tradition of getting the maximum from the equipment!
