Bearcub, your post was beautifully written, spoken with true words of Wisdom. Your analysis of fear causing initial paralysis hits the nail on the head. I'd like to say more here but we have a few odds and ends of preparation for Y2K to do this afternoon.
Thanks for your insights.

Bearcub: One of the most exceptional and poignent essays I've seen
yet, and I've seen several thousand! Keep 'em coming! All readers who read and understand these kinds of discussions should find their survival potential greatly enhanced.

And, I think you should re-post this one at intervals for new viewers who won't have the opportunity to see it, as it slides backward into the thread!

I for one thank you for sharing words, advice and practical ideas of real value, as contrasted with others here who only bellow fixed positions and attacks on those who disagree with them!

Bearcub,

I would be interested in seeing exactly how you would propose to educate people on Y2K.

I think it would be very interesting if you and other's who believe as you do, put your heads together and wrote us all an essay on exactly what the gov't should be saying.

Just imagine you're sitting there in the Oval office at 1600 Pennsylvania, with all of your national policy advisers surrounding you, trying to determine just what the gov't should say to its citizens.

Just what would you tell us, Bearcub?? As President of the United States, mega-power of the world, upon which every nation's economic prosperity depends, with the power to move markets and determine the success or failure of the entire world economy, just how exactly would you phrase your words and actions??

Here's your chance to tell what should be said, and what actions you are proposing to protect the people of the United States.

And I'm not "ribbing" you here, bearcub.

I really want to know how you would be handling this situation. differently.
