I know. It certainly makes you think from that perspective.

So much of what they did was to get a better life, a life at all, and we have it.

It makes me wonder what it's for. What they worked so hard for this "for."

I don't have a clue what it's for, when I think from that perspective. Not a clue. I feel so uninformed, so unreporting, so wasted.

My mom's oldest niece spent a lot of time on the farm where my mother grew up. Joan would go feed the chickens. And the turkey. The turkey was a big tom, and a mean one. The ingrate would chase Joan with blood in his eye, and she would climb atop the outhouse to escape him.
