Chuzzlewit, in the case of Amazon I believe some of their inventory is purchased on a consignment basis and therefore permits them to maintain a cash conversion cycle below zero. However, the primary reason they stay in business is due to the funds generated from the IPO's. In the case of Amazon they are or have generated additional funds from a secondary offering as well. At some point in time the market will catch on, I think!

Thanks for your response, but I believe you have misconstrued my intent. I suggested, albeit rather poorly, that AMZN is a thorn in the side of mass confirmation of these new business models.
