ED: There are people who pay taxes and then there are people who offset their capitol gains through what you might call loopholes.
As for me, I am just glad I have the privilege of paying taxes and living in this great country of ours.
If you want to buy and hold longterm, well that's just great. I played that way for years and never did make much money. Now, I play the market for everyday to be payday, not some day in the distant future if everything goes OK for the company. I also find I sleep very good at night not owning any stocks. Oh, I'll buy and hold msft at earnings time if they don't warn. As for not buying msft in 1986 or whatever, I certainly wish I had done so as just about every other person in the world. How about you?
