<<I just don't get it. How can both scenarios co-exist??

Which is it?

Or were Greenspan's comments and tone being directed at another audience across the seas??>>

Just spit balling here,
Could it be AG was talking about the US economy being to hot, while the supply, electric, social chaos... disruptions will come from outside the US.
Maybe Korea, India, Peru, Mexico... has a major problem.
Maybe people will not be able to get replacement parts for their Yugo's.
I'm guessing it's more likely related to oil supply for outside the US, though a person I know into commodities is also looking at sugar(he says imported cane is currently cheaper than domestic beet)and cotton. He speaks of semi-modern cotton gins and sugar refining operations outside the US with modest levels of technology which will show Y2k problems.
Then there is corn. He's watching corn closely. Seems there are drought conditions bringing about low yield weights in much of the US and we may need to Import corn by-products(scary?).
