The earliest extant fragments are from 60-70 AD. It was not collected into a single book until somewhere in the 300's- -and much was thrown out in the process (the Apocrypha, among other things). And you don't think the proselytizers of a religion have a vested interest in seeing it spread? They have everything to gain. The more it spreads, the richer they are and the safer they are. And will people die for lies? Yes. Happens in every war. They do it eagerly and willingly.
