Don

you could indeed buy leaps 01 or 02
and its true what vector 1 says
but perhaps you could partialy offste this by either
1/ buy leaps 01/02 and sell covred calls with leaps as security to offset premie fe by jan 2002 80 and sell jan 2000 100
or any combo which suits you best
2/ buy convertible bonds and sell covred on that one

hope this helps
anyway simply buying calls can be very risky if vol is high

Thanks Vector1 and Stefaan for the reply.

Where would I find the convertible bond for sale? I thought the bonds were owned by a few high dollar holders?

Bafort could you amplify on "1/ buy leaps 01/02 and sell covred calls with leaps as security to offset premie fe by jan 2002 80 and sell jan 2000 100" What do you mean "premie fe by".

Thanks again, Don
