Thanks for the info Jane -- we found a few places I would recommend, like the microbrewery inside the Colorado Belle, plus the people I rented a jet ski at, Watercraft Beach, in Bullhead City, AZ.

Jet ski tip -- the river is not as choppy if you head south, away from the Laughlin casinos, so you can go real fast on a jet ski! (So fast that my girlfriend was hanging on to me tight, with her eyes closed.)

We even managed to play "Mystery Shots" on Saturday night, where different people in the group buy a round of shots in the bar for everyone in the group. I convinced my friends to drink a round of Sambuca shots I bought... (Sambuca is the Italian version of ouzo, 80 proof or more.)

"The lake water reaches about 80 to 84 degrees during the hight of summer"

My experience on different trips, like this one, the time I went rafting, visits to the area near Overton on Lake Mead, etc., is that the water temperature of the Colorado River area can vary greatly at different times. We decided to go swimming in the River, on the Arizona side, on Saturday, and the water temperature had to have been below 50 degrees F. BRRRR! It was warmer on Sunday though.

Jane, since you're still out of town, if you get homesick, you can look at the Black's Beach Webcam at members.tripod.com . So how is the Caribbean?
