RESEARCH ALERT - Hewlett target raised
NEW YORK, July 27 (Reuters) - Salomon Smith Barney analyst John Jones Jr. raised his price target on computer maker Hewlett-Packard Co. Tuesday to $130 from $105.

-- In a report, Jones said business in the fiscal third quarter had been robust.

-- ''If the momentum continues into July, which we believe is the case, then HP should be able to produce our EPS (earnings-per-share) estimate of $0.85 which is above the consensus estimate of $0.80.''

-- He added, ''Our recent Fortune 500 Survey found HP UNIX servers to be a hot choice among CIOs (chief information officers). Also, 28 percent of the group said they would 'long' HP stock.''

-- The company reports fiscal third-quarter results Aug.
