Watson,

I have to believe INTEL knows exactly the capabilities of this design and AMD's process and will respond in the best way they can.

If Intel is so knowledgeable about the goings on at AMD, why is Willamette still 18 months out?

TWY, One might hope that the new Dresden fab will have addressed some of the earlier AMD problems, after all they were know a priori.

THE WATSONYOUTH: <if nominal is say 580mhz>
You have made three mistakes in one phrase:)
First, the lower case "m" stands for prefix
"milli" in literature. Second, abbreviation
for the frequency unit "hertz" is accustomed
to be written with capital "H", Hz, in order
to pay a little tribute to German physicist
H.R.Hertz (1857-94) who invented the
characterization of electromagnetic waves.
Same holds for Ampere, Volta, etc.
Otherwise your analysis seems interesting
within your assumptions.
