Scumbria Re <<Perhaps K6 is an inherently slow design, and the manufacturing has actually been very good?>>

Maybe. If so then AMD screwed up by over estimating their process and pushing the K6 it too far.

I am still holding to my AMD commons and hoping that they deliver with the K7. So far so good :) I do not trade stocks so if they screw up I will be out for good. There are plenty of chances to make money in this market and that's all I care about.

But as a consumer, I can't wait to upgrade my PII to K7. My current HD, CDW, and monitor are just fine. So I should do fine with a $1000 upgrade in four months or so (VVBG). I know of quite a few persons who are also waiting for the same thing.
