Does Dominion give public tours? I'd be interested in seeing this facility.

I don't know if they give public tours. I'm in grad school at UVa, and I talked to some people in the EE department. They do some interchange and consulting with Dominion. That's how I was able to tag along. I think they mentioned something about giving tours to high school kids, so there must be a public relations office.

As a Fed, I fly to Wash, DC several times a year. The Smithsonian Museum has some great exhibits. I believe its the museum of American History that has the technology exhibit. Some old AMAT equipment on display, as well as lots of old PC's. It was weird seeing some of the PC's that I owed 15-20 years ago now enshrined as museum pieces. There it was, the original Mac, and also a Commodore. They had an Altair and various other machines. Recommended for all techies.

It's the Museum of American History and Technology. I grew up near DC, and when I was a kid the big draw there was the pendulum in the main lobby. I still have a fully functional Atari 800, disk drive, and serial/parallel interface. I keep meaning to kludge a serial interface to one of my PCs so I can get all the crap off the disks. Somehow it never gets to the top of my priority queue... :)

All OT.
