DO you think this stock will hold above 7, low so far 7 3/16? Or could we spike below 7, at least on an intraday basis? I realize we are sitting on the 50-day MA. Monday morning will bring in more sellers. Institutions have been buying at 8, but who knows what these tricky MMs might try to squeeze out small shareholders.

Al:

I take it you are a little disappointed in the operating results.

A couple of points to make you feel better.

1. Until approx 6 months ago this company didn't have the financial resources to stay alive much less come up with new exciting products. All the hype from posters on this board on Sram and Dram price turnarounds was just that: hype. I sell memories for a living. There has been little if any turnaround in the US in the small niche market areas. Then you couple in the penalty tariffs on BOTH Srams and Drams and its amazing they even broke even on their base business.

2 This company does not make useless inventory any more. My God, they just finished a year of inventory markdowns! They do know how to make insider deals. They were advised of the upcoming price increases on wafers. Believe me, they are real. Given the opportuinity to purchase wafers at their old prices (IMO) they bought in. They can sell them or use them. Either way they will show up this quarter as operating profits.

3. This stock did not go from 3-11 based on increasing memory sales.

4. I was down on this company 6 months - 9 months ago because they had no game plan. They now have embedded controller products. That's good. I expect to see them profitable the 2nd quarter 2000. They have between $20- $25 per share real asset value (counting Chartered Semi). That's good. The financial bankers will show them how to handle this valuation.

5. I traded in some of my S3 stock Friday and bought ALSC at 8. (With the merger, S3 won't be making any money for the next few quarters either.) ALSC is a solid asset play.

Relax.
