Tri-Valley Fills Out Initial Test Well of Ekho Project

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 1999--Tri-Valley Oil & Gas Co. (OTC BB:TRIL) Monday announced that CVL Resources Ltd. of Vancouver, British Columbia, has signed a letter of intent to join the consortium of Canadian junior companies and TVOG et al to drill the first test well on TVOG's Ekho Project west of Bakersfield.

With CVL committing to the last five percent TVOG is fully subscribed on the estimated US$9.5 million to drill and complete the Ekho No. 1, according to F. Lynn Blystone, TVOG chief executive officer.

"This is the first of three wells to test a mapped deep structure below 15,000 feet that could contain up to four billion barrels of 42 gravity crude and 10 trillion cubic feet of natural gas estimated from reservoir parameters as published by the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources," Blystone said.

"The project was code named Ekho because it has the potential to 'echo' or exceed the reserves of the nearby famed supergiant Elk Hills Oilfield, which has produced over one billion barrels of oil to date," he said.

The area play is in the midst of a prolific petroleum province that has, to date, produced about 11.5 billion barrels of oil -- more than Alaska's Prudhoe Bay and Kuparak River Fields combined. Right now, the top three producing oilfields in the 48 contiguous states are in the Bakersfield area, which produces nearly three times as much oil per day as the whole state of Oklahoma.

"With over 100,000 wells drilled in Kern County, only 65 have penetrated below 15,000 feet. Our proprietary and licensed data along with the spectacular blowout of the Bellevue No. 1 at Middle East rates from 17,646 feet last year suggest huge potentials at depth," Blystone said.

CVL has more than 18,000 square miles of holdings in Australia and New Zealand, both onshore and offshore, on which it explores for oil and gas through several joint ventures with such major companies as Shell, Amoco and Exxon.

CVL Resources is listed on the Vancouver Stock Exchange under the symbol "CVL." Tri-Valley, with headquarters in Bakersfield, is listed in the U.S. over-the-counter on the electronic bulletin board under the symbol "TRIL."

Curion Ventures Corp CUV
Shares issued 11,041,146 Jul 23 close $0.39

Mon 26 Jul 99 News Release
Mr. Eugene Larabie reports:

The company is reviewing the Project Ekho participation agreement. In
anticipation of the execution of this agreement, Curion has filed with the
Vancouver Stock Exchange documentation with respect to the company's
convertible debenture for up to $2.5-million. Further, the company
announces the awarding of 640,000 options of the company at 41 cents per
share for two years.

Curion Ventures is a 20-per-cent participant in Project Ekho, a deep oil
and gas exploration project in the San Joaquin Valley, outside of
Bakersfield, Calif. Recent drilling in the vicinity, namely the Bellevue
No. 1 well of November, 1998, has confirmed the potential existence of
giant oil and gas reserves at depths in excess of 15,000 feet. Before being
controlled, the Bellevue No. 1 flowed an an estimated rate of 100 million
cubic feet per day. Under restricted flow, the well averaged approximately
10 million cubic feet per day and more than 400 barrels condensate per day
for six months before being plugged May 28, 1999.

As stated in a press release of July 23, 1999, by Tri-Valley Oil and Gas
president Lynn Blystone, the Ekho No. 1 well is testing a mapped deep
structure could contain up to four billion barrels of 42 gravity crude and
10 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (estimated from reservoir parameters
as published by the California division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal
Resources).

George...Did you ever find out if the hamlet of Meridian, about 30 miles west of Yuba City, is possibly the location of TRIL's Meridian Gas Project?

"Gas Project #99-46: New data has highlighted two shallow gas targets potentially hosting 100 bcf in the South San Joaquin Valley."

Would the Gas Project #99-46 be in the area of Stockton? Both of these projects are scheduled for the second half of 1999.
