Re: All may not be as it appears. The concern is that Intel cut back on 440BX/ZX production in anticipation of the
i810 picking up a significant portion of that volume. If there is a problem in the i810 and Intel can't ship them,
then they have insufficient quantities of 440BX/ZX to backfill the demand. If all this is true (beats me) then the
lack of chipsets could hamper processor shipments. That's the cause for concern.


Then why does the Intel guy say this:

"It's a case where demand
for the product continues to be extremely
strong. It's a good problem."

Did someone hear Barrett say 'shut off the guy's mike' like at the Microsoft analyst's convention? Was he not considering all the implications to the company when he said that?
