when it comes to the complex maze of interactivity, none compare.

This is the key point to Checkfree's success going forward. EBPP is an amazingly complex maze of interactivity. Checkfree has been mastering this for many years. Can you imagine the headaches if The Exchange decided to try and split up the payment process such that The Exchange would make some payments electronically itself, using Checkfree for the ones it would not be connected to? Anyone here believe they could do that seemlessly? What a customer service nightmare. The Exchange banks would have to answer customer service calls for their billing problems, and Checkfree for theirs. And what if a customer had a concern about a bill being handled by each. One call would require routing to different customer service reps. No more "dial tone quality" if that happens. It ceaselessly amazes me that Checkfree has handed the banks the future of banking, and the banks are willing to risk losing it all to save a nickel.
