I couldn't be without my dsl.Next I'm running it through a hub to connect 2 computers.Last week had to use back up aol because dsl went down...wow,I hadn't used aol for 2 months...pretty scary to think most users still use dial up...very painful.I'm not doing to bad for a jock with no computer backround.I don't think you could even run a direct access broker like the Executioner without dsl. Also helps with my 2 Wit accounts and use E-trade for long holds like FSON.All have checking and Executioners clearing house is SWS which provides Visa Credit if anyone is interested.

my main point is dsl shares the phone line(dsl uses the upper part of phone wire for speed req.) and can not compete with cable for streaming video and I think music. But to have video like tv dsl won't cut it...my understanding.
This really makes dsl a temporary upgrade to dial up but not the solution to where the internet is going.
