There are reasons to worry...

1) Global trade (WTO, et. al) is being attacked. You obviously do not follow the European news.

...and there is a "Y2K" triple-whammy...

2) There is likely a one-time surge in pre-Y2K computer spending, to convert non-Y2K compliant systems to NT/LAN/Workstation systems. This WILL NOT recurr, and is inflating results now. Future comparisons will therefore be difficult. Remember, corporate spending is supposed to be 80 percent of Microsoft's take!

3) There is also supposedly a short-term change in computer spending patterns, due to a shift away from the second half, where a "freeze" may occurr at some companies.

4) Again related to Y2K, who wants to keep money in Microsoft through the end of the year, if the unexpected does occurr? Can everyone leave Microsoft stock on December 31st, 1999? At some point, people are going to panic.

I wish everyone would forget Greenspan & the Fed for a while. Our current good fortunes have everything to do with Reaganomics; global trade; massive '81 tax cuts; doing away with all the bogus tax shelters; and the productiviuty giants such as Microsoft

Blankone: You speak great wisdom and truth in your post. But the liberal press won't spin it that way. Actually the pro big government media are the one who throw the spotlight on AG. JFD
