<OT> Zeev, I have not heard of a national sales tax proposal, or even flat tax proposal, that hurts little guys. Of course any change is hailed as giving money to the rich and stealing from the poor, robbing social security, etc. Many items will remain untaxed, such as food, rent, utilities, etc. These tax ideas are not ploys to take from the poor. Those effective tax rates will remain the same. Reduction of taxes and government spending (the government produces nothing, so I wonder how it adds to the economy) would only help the economy. Politics, rabbit trails, lying and general posturing about saving social security and lowering the deficit only muddies the waters of clear thinking and incites class envy arguments. MD
